Mikumi National Park and Udzungwa Mountains offer a 4-day safari experience like no other. This itinerary begins with a drive from Dar Es Salaam to Mikumi National Park, where you will spend the first two days exploring the open savannah, acacia woodland, and the Mkata River floodplain. You can expect to see an impressive variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, and a plethora of birds.

The next two days will be spent hiking in the Udzungwa Mountains, where you will have the chance to discover cascading waterfalls, beautiful vistas, and endemic flora and fauna. You may also encounter the unique Udzungwa red colobus monkey, an endangered primate that is endemic to the area.

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

The tour from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park is a thrilling adventure that takes you through diverse landscapes of southern Tanzania. You will depart from Dar es Salaam early in the morning and drive for approximately 4-5 hours to reach the park. The journey will take you through scenic views of the Uluguru Mountains and small villages along the way. Mikumi is home to different tribe but the main tribes are Maasai and Luguru.  The tour will provide an opportunity to have lunch along the way in a perfect restaurant and later proceed with the drive to Mikumi. Day 2: Full day game drive in Mikumi National Park

Mikumi National Park is one of Tanzania’s most accessible wildlife reserves, spanning over 3,000 square kilometers. A full-day game drive in the park offers an opportunity to witness an incredible diversity of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, impalas, and many more. The drive typically starts early in the morning and lasts until sunset, with several stops along the way to observe and photograph the animals. Day 3: Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains

Day 4: Uduzungwa Mountains to Dar es Salaam
