Today we pick you from your Hotel in Arusha and take a classic destination of Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire National Park is located in Tanzania and is one of the most popular national parks in the country. The park is known for its large concentration of elephants and is home to a wide variety of other wildlife, including lions, zebras, giraffes, and buffalo. The landscape is characterized by open grasslands, acacia woodlands, and the Tarangire River, which provides a vital source of water for the animals. Visitors can enjoy game drives, guided walks, and bird watching tours in the park. A tour of Tarangire National Park offers a unique opportunity to witness some of Africa’s most iconic animals in their natural habitat, while also experiencing the beauty and diversity of Tanzania’s landscape.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
A Ngorongoro Crater tour is an exciting opportunity to explore one of Tanzania’s most iconic natural wonders, located in the heart of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The crater is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera, offering incredible wildlife viewing opportunities throughout the year. Visitors can expect to spot the “Big Five” – lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo and rhinos – as well as other species such as wildebeests, zebras, hyenas, and jackals. The crater floor measures 250 square kilometers and is home to over 25,000 animals, unique volcanic landscapes, and a range of microhabitats. Visitors can take guided walking safaris or drive through the crater to enjoy the breathtaking views and experience the diverse wildlife. With its stunning scenery and unique ecosystem, a Ngorongoro Crater tour is truly a must-see adventure for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.
Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park is located in northern Tanzania, approximately 126 km west of Arusha. Covering an area of about 330 km², the park offers a unique safari experience due to its diverse habitats ranging from the lake to dense forests and open savannah plains. One of the park’s main attractions is its populations of tree-climbing lions which are often seen lazing around in the trees.
Other animals to spot include herds of elephants, hippos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and numerous bird species, making it a popular destination for bird watchers. The alkaline lake is home to thousands of flamingos, pelicans, and other water birds. Activities within the park include game drives, bird watching, nature walks, and canoeing along the shores of the lake. Cultural visits to nearby Maasai villages are also a popular excursion. Experience the beauty of the park at different times of the day, including early morning and afternoon game drives.
