6-Day Luxury Highlights of Tanzania Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

Upon your arrival at either Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your safari guide. From there, you’ll be transferred to your luxurious accommodation in Arusha or a nearby area. This day is designed for you to unwind after your journey and acclimatize to the new environment. You can relax at the lodge, take in the surroundings, and perhaps even explore Arusha if you’re feeling up to it. In the evening, you’ll gather for a welcome dinner at the lodge. This will be an opportunity for you to meet your guide and fellow travelers, and you’ll receive a briefing on what to expect during the safari.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After a delicious breakfast at the lodge, you’ll set off towards Tarangire National Park, known for its iconic baobab trees and large elephant population. Once inside the park, you’ll embark on a thrilling game drive, where you’ll have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife species, including lions, zebras, giraffes, and more. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch within the park, allowing you to soak in the beauty of your surroundings. The game drive will continue in the afternoon, offering even more opportunities for wildlife sightings and stunning landscapes. As the day draws to a close, you’ll return to your luxury accommodation for a sumptuous dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 3-4: Serengeti National Park

Today, you’ll depart for Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most renowned safari destinations. The journey itself is an adventure, as you’ll enjoy a scenic drive through the picturesque Tanzanian countryside. Upon arrival in the Serengeti, you’ll immediately set out on game drives, exploring the vast plains and searching for the park’s famous inhabitants, including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhinoceros). Over the next two days, you’ll have ample time to explore different regions of the Serengeti, each offering its own unique wildlife sightings and breathtaking landscapes. Each evening, you’ll return to your luxury camp or lodge, where you’ll be treated to gourmet meals and deluxe accommodations.

Day 5-6: Ngorongoro Crater

Your journey continues towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a visit to Olduvai Gorge along the way. This archaeological site is often referred to as the “Cradle of Mankind” due to the significant discoveries of early human fossils found here. After exploring Olduvai Gorge, you’ll make your way to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. Descending into the crater floor, you’ll be greeted by an abundance of wildlife, including lions, elephants, and hippos. You’ll spend the night at a luxury lodge perched on the crater rim, offering unparalleled views of the crater below. On the morning of Day 6, you’ll enjoy a final game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater before beginning your journey back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure.
